Define the customer

Explain how you learned which businesses or people were a suitable match for an offer. Talk about the information you checked and how it affected your approach. Avoid presenting a large contact list as proof of qualified demand.

Show the conversation

Prepare an example of asking questions before presenting a solution. Explain what you learned about the prospect's priorities, timing, and decision process. Be clear when another person handled a demonstration, proposal, or final negotiation.

Discuss setbacks honestly

Describe a prospect who did not move forward and what you learned. A useful answer might show how you corrected a misunderstanding, improved qualification, or stopped spending time on a poor fit. Do not invent a successful ending.

Ask about the handoff

Learn whether the role books meetings, develops partnerships, or closes business. Ask what counts as a qualified opportunity and who receives it. Clear ownership helps candidates understand what the employer will actually expect.
