Describe the scope
Explain whether you supervised a shift, trained new employees, coordinated a department, or supported a manager. Identify the responsibility you actually held. If you helped with scheduling or inventory, explain your role in the process.
Show how you handled pressure
Prepare a story about a busy period, a staffing change, or a customer issue. Describe how you prioritized work and communicated with the team. Focus on what you did and what happened, not on blaming another person.
Ask about operational duties
Learn how the position divides time between selling, coaching, scheduling, stock work, and reporting. Ask about opening and closing responsibilities and weekend expectations. A management title may include substantial work outside customer conversations.
Connect the next step
If you want a district or regional role later, ask what experience that progression requires. Treat promotion as a conversation about development rather than a promise. Compare the opportunity with your current responsibilities and the skills you want to build.
