Give each result context

Describe the product or service, customer type, and sales channel before listing a result. Explain whether you managed existing accounts, generated new business, or supported another salesperson. If you use revenue or quota figures, identify the period and your own contribution. Never turn a team result into an individual claim.

Make transferable experience visible

Customer service, retail, hospitality, and fundraising can supply relevant examples. Describe how you identified a need, explained options, resolved an objection, or followed through. Use actual work rather than adding sales terminology that overstates your responsibility.

Build a version for the role

Read the posting and choose the examples that match its duties. Put relevant systems, product knowledge, and communication experience where a recruiter can find them. Keep the layout straightforward and check that dates, employers, and contact details remain readable when copied into an application.

Before you submit

Read the resume aloud, verify every figure, and save a clearly named PDF unless the employer requests another format. Keep the editable original. Bring examples you can explain in an interview instead of memorizing impressive phrases.
